The Serralves Foundation is a private institution established for the public benefit which aims to stimulate interest in contemporary art and environmental issues. Housed in a 1930s mansion, surrounded by na 18 hectare area of gardens, wood and farmland, The Serralves Foundation is a site of unique stature in Portugal. Some of the most renowned international artists of the 1930s contributed to the design and construction of the house and park, including Charles Siclis, the architect; Jacques Grèber, the landscape architect, and decorators such as Brandt, Lalique, Leleu, Perzel, Porteneuve and Rlhmann. The final design of the house (1940) was the work of Marques da Silva, a well-known Portuguese architect. The Serralves Foundation, situated in the centre of Oporto, comprises a number of facilities ideal for corporate events.
