Just open: Pousada do Porto

2009-10-25

The Portuguese Hotel Group Pestana has just inaugurated the most recent Pousada, the first one in the City of Porto. In a total investment of € 15 MIO, the Pousada do Porto occupies the Freixo Palace, an 18th century Palace, designed by the architect Nasoni and one of the most remarkable examples of Portuguese civil baroque architecture, classified as a National Monument in 1910.

The Pousada do Porto, the largest Pousada in Portugal, was built in two separate but interconnected buildings: the Palácio (or palace), which houses the restaurant, bar, lounges and meeting rooms; and the former Harmonia Flour Factory, where the rooms are to be found, some of them boasting a magnificent view over the river.

The charming setting, the cuisine and the considerable on-site capacity make this the ideal choice not only for those seeking leisure pursuits but also as a venue for major events, encounters and meetings.
