The Municipality of Amarante launched a tender last week to engage a company to support and manage the city's thermal spa resort.

The public tender has already been published in Diário da República and has a value of around 740 thousand euros for two years of contract. The municipality clarifies that it will remain the owner and managing entity of Termas de Amarante, therefore, it is not a concession of space.

Currently, the service is contracted to Protermas - Gestão e Exploração de Termas, Lda due to the “technical specificity on the management of Termas de Amarante”, says the municipality. Considering that this is the most appropriate way to manage the thermal spa resort, the municipality decided in December 2020 to maintain the management model and, consequently, the opening of the new tender.
