Município do Porto promotes webinar on tourism

Câmara Municipal do Porto promotes today, at 18h30, the webinar 'How can Oporto position itself as a destination of trust?' Ricardo Valente, President of the Associação de Turismo do Porto (ATP) and Councillor for Economy, Tourism and Commerce will be present.

The webinar dedicated to the recovery of tourism in the city of Porto after the Covid-19 pandemic aims to collect the views of various entities representing the links in the value chain of Porto and intends to serve as guidance for joint action by the various actors of the tourism ecosystem.

The opening session is hosted by Ricardo Valente and Rui Gidro, partner of Deloitte. Jorge Costa, president of IPDT - - Turismo e Consultoria will be the moderator of the first panel where Joana Dixo will participate, as representative of the owners and managers of local accommodation establishments, and the Director of Porto Palácio Hotel, Pedro Serra, who will speak on behalf of the hotel sector. The debate is scheduled to last one hour.

The alignment continues with Vasco Coelho, owner and chef of Eskalduna, who will discuss issues related to catering. Next, Manual Marques, vice-president of ATP, will bring the external promotion of the city to the agenda. The program is completed with the intervention of Professor Gilberto Igrejas, President of the Instituto de Vinhos do Douro e Porto. At the end there will be time for questions from the participants.

This initiative is integrated in the cycle of webinars that the Pelouro da Economia, Turismo e Comércio of the Municipio do Porto is organizing on a number of issues relevant to the economy of the city. The theme of tourism comes at a time when the country is gradually resuming economic activity and the sector is discussing how to prepare to receive tourists again and recover from the stop imposed by the new coronavirus.
