“Norte mais Forte” the platform that supports tourism in the region

#Covid-19

Entidade de Turismo do Porto e Norte (TPNP) and Associação de Turismo do Porto (ATP) today launched the “Norte mais Forte” platform, a microsite to support tourism in the region during these times of health and economic crisis caused by COVID-19.

This initiative was born to respond to the needs of many businesspeople, mainly microbusinesses, and it also intends to help in preparing the applications for the measures created by the government. In addition, it also aims to assist in the development of strategies for the future of tourism.

The platform will have a simplified support centre where a group of employees, in real time, will answer questions and assist in getting access to the various support grants provided by the Government. This support will be personalised and dedicated to each sub-region via an existing live chat on the platform, but it will also be available via telephone calls.

The microsite also includes a Discussion Forum where it is possible to share questions and ideas, in order to find joint solutions for the present and the future of tourism in the North of Portugal.

The joint launch of this platform by TPNP and ATP is also another step in the process of bringing the two institutions together. According to Ricardo Valente, President of ATP, at a particularly difficult time for the sector, it is essential to join efforts and gather the best skills “to guarantee that the future of Porto and North destination is a continuation of the unique path of success which it achieved in the second decade of this 21st century”.
