Better decisions start with better data. That is the vision behind the new Tourism Intelligence Centre (CIT) – Porto and North, officially launched by Porto Business School to support a more informed, integrated, and competitive tourism ecosystem across the region.
Developed under the Mobilising Agenda “Accelerate and Transform Tourism”, funded by Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), the CIT will bring together data from multiple public and private sources, transforming it into actionable insights for destinations, tourism businesses, public entities, and academia.
As strategic partners in the project, Porto and North of Portugal - Convention & Visitors Bureau will help ensure that the platform responds to the region's specific needs, supporting destination management, tourism promotion, policy development, and business competitiveness. The launch event was attended by its President, Luís Pedro Martins.
The platform is expected to include around 500 indicators organised into eight thematic clusters, interactive dashboards, predictive models, AI-powered tools, and advanced analytics capabilities designed to support decision-making across the tourism sector.
