The winners of the 5th edition of the “Cinco Estrelas Regiões 2022” Award are already known. This year, 114 regional icons and 112 brands were recognised across the country, based on the participation of 425 thousand Portuguese consumers.

In Porto and North of Portugal, the initiative awarded a total of 66 heritage resources and local brands in the districts of Porto, Braga, Viana do Castelo, Vila Real and Bragança.

In the district of Porto, we highlight the Camisola Poveira, Tripas à Moda do Porto, Clérigos Tower, Matosinhos Beach and Port Wine. In Braga, the award went to the town of Gerês, the Abade de Priscos Pudding, the Braga Romana party, the Castle of Guimarães and the Paço dos Duques (Ducal Palace). In Viana do Castelo, the highlights were the town of Arcos de Valdevez, Filigree, Sarrabulho, Torta de Viana, Monte de Santa Luzia and Moledo Beach. In the district of Vila Real, Pinhão, Black Pottery of Bisalhães, Feijoada à Transmontana (bean stew), Cristas de Galo, the Douro Museum and Rabaçal River Beach were awarded. Finally, Bragança was awarded for the Posta Mirandesa, Festa dos Caretos, Azibo Beach, Alheira de Mirandela (cured sausage) and Serra de Montesinho.

The “Cinco Estrelas Regiões” Award seeks to enhance and present the best that each of the Portuguese regions have to offer in terms of gastronomy, natural resources, monuments and heritage, among several other categories, and regional businesses that stand out for their quality are also recognised.

The “Cinco Estrelas Regiões” Award is an evaluation system that measures the degree of satisfaction that products, services or brands provide to their users, having as evaluation criteria the five main variables that influence consumers in their purchase/consumption decisions.
