A shared history and a deep-rooted cultural connection set the stage for a remarkable gastronomic encounter in Belém, where Porto and the North of Portugal joined forces with Turismo do Centro de Portugal, TAP Air Portugal, and the Vila Galé Hotéis to present the second edition of the Festival Gastronômico.

From April 23 to 26, the Vila Galé Collection Amazônia hosted an immersive journey into Portuguese cuisine, with Luís Pedro Martins, President of Porto and North of Portugal - Convention & Visitors Bureau, representing the destination and reinforcing its position in a market with strong cultural ties and direct air connectivity.

The programme welcomed renowned Chefs Francisco Ferreira and Tiago Lamego, who travelled from Portugal to showcase traditional recipes shaped by generations, inviting guests to experience iconic dishes such as the historic Bola de Lamego, alongside a menu that highlighted the authenticity and diversity of our gastronomy.

Brazil continues to be one of the most relevant international markets for Porto and the North of Portugal. Actions like this, held in destinations with direct air links, play a key role in increasing visibility and fostering closer relationships with local audiences.
