For the first time ever, Porto and Matosinhos hosted the TAP Awards, the annual ceremony recognising TAP Air Portugal’s top-performing sales partners across international markets. Held in May at the iconic Porto Cruise Terminal in Matosinhos, the event brought together around 30 guests for a celebration of the partners who contributed most to TAP’s global sales performance in 2025.

The choice of the region as the host city highlights the growing relevance of Porto and the North of Portugal within the international tourism and aviation landscape, while also showcasing the region’s ability to host premium industry events in unique venues.

Porto and North of Portugal - Convention & Visitors Bureau was represented by the President, Luís Pedro Martins, who joined the ceremony as one of the guest speakers. The ceremony also featured the presence of Luís Rodrigues, Carlos Oliveira, and Frederic Gossot, CEO, Chairman, and Senior Director of Sales and Distribution of TAP Air Portugal, alongside Hugo Beirão, Councillor for Economy and Entrepreneurship, Mobility and Transport, Tourism and Internationalisation at Porto Municipality, and Lídia Monteiro, Member of the Board of Visit Portugal.

Before the awards ceremony, participants also had the opportunity to explore Porto’s historic centre and experience the destination first-hand.
