#TuPodes is Portugal's new Tourism campaign for the internal market

On Tuesday, Turismo de Portugal launched the campaign #TuPodes, Visita Portugal. The aim is to encourage the Portuguese to travel throughout the national territory.

VisitPortugal becomes VisitaPortugal to symbolize the "invitation to discover the reasons that have made Portugal the Best Destination in the World and that have brought millions of tourists to our country", can be read on the website of the national tourism entity.

With an investment of two million euros, the initiative that challenges the Portuguese to explore the culture, heritage, and diversity of different Portuguese regions will be divided into two phases. The first phase involves the exhibition of promotional video on digital media and television, radio spots and presence in the national and international press.

In the second phase, the protagonists will be the tourism professionals who will invite the Portuguese to experience the national tourism offer. Visits to museums, surf lessons, hiking and nature walks, descent of a river and activities on farms will be some of the proposals.

The campaign was presented on Monday 15th June at a press conference attended by the Prime Minister, António Costa, and emerged as a response to the challenges that the Covid-19 pandemic brought to tourism. The domestic market is biggest bet to begin the recovery of the activity of one of the most important sectors of the Portuguese economy.
