Porto & North of Portugal was the big winner, this Tuesday, in the Tourism – Destination category of the 2022 Marketeer Awards.
The winners of the 14th edition of the Marketeer Awards were announced this Tuesday, at an event that took place in Lisbon, and Porto & North of Portugal was one of the winners among the 8 finalists in the Tourism – Destination category.
For Luís Pedro Martins, President of Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal, this honour from Marketeer “confirms, once again, the recognition of the reputation of the Porto e Norte brand in the national and international context and the respective effects on the reputation of the destination and in attracting high-end tourist flows.”
Luís Pedro Martins considers this recognition, “not only the award-winning promotional campaigns 'Awakening', 'Feel the Call' and 'The Majestic Adventures of Ofelia de Souza' contributed, but also the excellent promotional dynamics of all players in the region's tourism industry, which naturally includes the good performance of implementing the destination promotion plan which, in the first half of the year, included well over a hundred promotional activities, which allowed the destination to register, in May, a growth of 7.3% in guests and 10% in overnight stays, an increase of 23.4% in revenues and 18.2% in the average stay”.
With a total of 32 categories and four more direct awards, the Marketeer Awards aim to reward brands from different areas of activity with the best performance in the country, in the fields of Marketing, Advertising and Communication.
