ATP - Associação de Turismo do Porto e Norte, represented by its executive director, Rui Pedro Gonçalves, was in Brazil for 2 weeks in order to promote the destination of Porto and the North and celebrate a new air connection (Campinas-Porto) of the flight company Azul.

During his stay, Rui Pedro Gonçalves gave an interview to Jornal Brasileiro "O Dia", where he reinforced the opportunity that the Brazilian community has at present to invest in activities to support tourism and expand business, both in terms of ease of language and existing government support.

There was also an important focus on the growth of the main cities in the North of the country: Porto is considered the best European city for the installation of startups, Viana do Castelo is going through a good phase of growth with the naval industry, while Braga has a important center of nanotechnology and Guimarães offers many opportunities in the cultural tourism sector.

This visit reinforced the connection between the two countries, promoting the North region once again.
