Today, February 20, Rui Pedro Gonçalves, the executive director of Porto Convention & Visitors Bureau (ATP), stated that a new partnership has been "formalized" with the Mayor of Caminha, Miguel Alves, in order to promote the region at an international level.

To do so, ATP will start working towards sending a group of tourism operators and specialized journalists to Caminha, to analyze its strengths, especially those that can be associated with religious and nature tourism.

Caminha is a region in Alto Minho that has been witnessing a fast-paced growth over the past few years, above the national average, mainly due to the visit of Portuguese and Spanish tourists. The ultimate goal is to promote this municipality and Northern Portugal beyond borders, in markets such as North America, Brazil, Asia and Central Europe.
