Luís Pedro Martins re-elected President of Associação de Turismo do Porto e Norte

Luís Pedro Martins was re-elected, this Thursday, President of Associação de Turismo do Porto e Norte (ATP) for the next three years. List A, the only list to go to vote and headed by the President of the Regional Entity of Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal (TPNP), takes office on 10 January 2023.

The Electoral General Assembly of Associação de Turismo do Porto e Norte, held this Thursday, at Alfândega do Porto, for the election of the Governing Bodies for the three-year period 2023-2025, once again elected Luís Pedro Martins as President of the Board.

The “new” ATP Board proposes to continue the strategy that has been developed over the last three years, that is, a total alignment between the two regional entities in what is the strategy of promoting the destination Porto and North of Portugal in the domestic and foreign markets.

Catarina Santos Cunha, representing Porto City Hall, and Mónica Gonçalves, from the Hotel Hilton Porto Gaia and representative of the Accommodation Class companies, are part of the project as Vice-Presidents.

Ricardo Rio (Mayor of Braga), Fernando Gaspar Vieira (Director of Porto Airport), Ana Pinho (President of the Serralves Foundation), Mafalda Magalhães (General Director of Museu do Futebol Clube do Porto), António Gouveia Santos (General Director of Alfândega do Porto and representative of the companies in the Congress Centres Class), André Rodrigues (Administrator of Rollertown and representative of the companies in the Sightseeing Tours/Leisure class), Jorge Costa (President of IPDT and representative of the companies in the Consultancy Class) and also Mariana Morais (Administrator of Clube Viajar and representative of the companies in the DMC's Class) take up the position of voting members.

The ATP Board is also made up of four substitutes members. António Tavares, from the Irmandade dos Clérigos, Mariana Carvalho de Oliveira, from A.N.E. Tours, which represents the companies in the Transport Class, Sónia Brochado, from B'Trust and representative of the companies in the Support Services Class, and João Paulo Oliveira, from Leading and representative of the companies in the PCO’s Class.

The Governing Bodies are completed with the Board of the General Assembly and the audit committee. Nuno Botelho, Associação Comercial do Porto, occupies the position of Chairman of the Board of the General Assembly, while Pedro Sottomayor, from Grape Ideas – Sogrape Group and representative of the companies in the Quintas and Wine Cellars Class, remains as 1st Secretary of the Board of the General Assembly. Pedro Nunes, from Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Porto and representative of the Class made up of Monuments/Museums/Tourist Attractions, is the 2nd Secretary of the Board of the General Assembly.

In turn, Paulo Cunha, General Director of the Casa da Música Foundation, takes up the position of Chairman of the Auditee Committee, joining him Artur Junqueira, from José Silva Carvalho Catering, as Secretary of the Auditee Committee, Carlos Teixeira, from Três Séculos and representative of the companies in the Restaurants/Bars/Wineshops Class, who remains as Member of the Auditee Committee and, finally, Manuel de Miguel, representing the Associação Porto Destino de Golfe, who is an Alternate Member of the Auditee Committee.

The new Board takes office on 10 January 2023, in Porto.
