One year after its launch, Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras’s direct Recife–Porto route continues to play an important role in connecting Porto and the North of Portugal with one of our most strategic long-haul markets.
Since operations began in June 2025, Azul Airlines has carried more than 147K passengers and operated over 600 flights on the Recife–Porto route. With four weekly flights between Recife and Porto, alongside the airline’s three weekly São Paulo–Porto services, Azul continues to play an important role in connecting Brazil with Porto and the North of Portugal.
The success of this connection also reflects the promotional efforts carried out by Porto and North of Portugal - Convention & Visitors Bureau in the Brazilian market. In collaboration with Azul, the destination has developed a range of initiatives, including press trips and familiarization trips designed to increase awareness and inspire travel to Porto and the North of Portugal.
Congratulations to Azul on this milestone, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration to bring even more travellers from Brazil to Porto and the North of Portugal.
