Porto and the North of Portugal joined ILTM Latin America in São Paulo, one of the most relevant trade shows for luxury travel in the region.
From May 5–8, our Long-Haul Market Manager, Cátia Barbosa, led our presence at the event, engaging in over 50 one-on-one meetings with top buyers from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and other key Latin American markets.
To build on this presence, we also hosted a dedicated networking breakfast on the opening day at the Consulate-General of Portugal in São Paulo, providing a valuable networking opportunity, with the local support of our representative in the Brazilian market. The session brought together 35 generalist travel agents and featured a destination presentation by Cátia Barbosa, alongside TAP Air Portugal and six rounds of business meetings, further amplifying our reach and engagement in the market.
It was also the perfect moment to relaunch our partnership with House of Moments, integrating DMCs and member hotels in a morning fully dedicated to destination promotion and commercial collaboration.
Brazil is our 6th largest international source market in terms of overnight stays. From 2023 to 2024, it recorded a 0.7% growth, reaching approximately 588,900 overnight stays in Porto and the North.
With a growing portfolio of high-quality experiences, strategic new openings, and a strong focus on authenticity, Porto and the North continue to strengthen their position as a leading luxury destination for the Latin American market.
A special thank-you to the members who represented the region at ILTM: Culture Discovery Destinations, TOP Atlântico, Local by Clube Viajar, Pacheca Group, MS Collection, Highgate, Amazing Evolution, The Yeatman, WOW, InterContinental Porto - Palácio das Cardosas, Vila Foz Hotel & Spa, Altis Hotels, and The Lince Hotels.
