The Michelin Guide has announced, this Tuesday, at the Congress Centre “El Greco”, in Toledo, the Michelin-starred restaurants for 2023. In addition to the eight restaurants in Porto and North of Portugal that were already on this list, the restaurants from Porto, Euskalduna Studio and Le Monument, were awarded with a Michelin star.
At the gala that took place, this Tuesday, at the Congress Centre “El Greco”, in Toledo, Portugal got five new Michelin stars for the year 2023. Euskalduna Studio, led by chef Vasco Coelho Santos, and Le Monument, a restaurant run by chef Julien Montbabut at Maison Albar Hotels Le Monumental Palace, won their first Michelin star.
The two restaurants located in Porto, both members of Associação de Turismo do Porto e Norte, are two of the five Portuguese restaurants that make their debut in this Michelin Guide.
With these new accolades, Porto and North of Portugal now have ten Michelin-starred restaurants, as the eight restaurants from the previous edition kept their stars.
They are Casa de Chá da Boa Nova (2 stars), in Leça da Palmeira; The Yeatman (2 stars), in Vila Nova de Gaia; A Cozinha (1 star), in Guimarães; Largo do Paço - Casa da Calçada (1 star), in Amarante; G Pousada (1 star), in Bragança, and the three restaurants from Porto: Vila Foz (1 star), Antiqvvm (1 star) and Pedro Lemos (1 star).
Portugal now has 38 Michelin-starred restaurants, spread over 7 two-star restaurants and 31 one-star restaurants.
In the Bib Gourmand awards, our country also won seven new accolades, with three restaurants located in Porto and North of Portugal: Semea by Euskalduna (Porto), Gruta (Porto) and Rio by Paulo André (Vila do Conde).
