Porto continues to gain recognition as one of Europe’s leading destinations for international association meetings and congresses. The latest ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) 2025 Ranking confirms a remarkable year for the city, with Porto now ranked 25th worldwide and 17th in Europe, hosting a total of 84 ICCA meetings in 2025.

Compared to 2024, Porto increased the number of ICCA meetings from 59 to 84, climbing 9 positions globally and 5 positions in Europe in just one year.

Beyond volume, Porto is also standing out in high-value sectors. The city reached 9th place worldwide in scientific meetings, reinforcing its relevance within the international scientific and academic community.

Portugal also consolidated its position among the world’s leading destinations, maintaining 8th place globally in the ICCA country ranking and improving its European positioning.

This result reflects the collective work of the entire ecosystem — institutions, venues, universities, PCOs, DMCs, hotels, and industry members — who continue to position Porto and the North of Portugal as a competitive and trusted destination for international events.
