Porto and the North of Portugal, in collaboration with the Visit Portugal team in the Nordic countries and Visit Alentejo, hosted a Press Trip with the Norwegian magazine Vagabond Reiselyst.

At the beginning of May, Runar Larsen, a journalist from Vagabond Reiselyst, the largest travel publication in Norway, visited Porto and Douro to gather insights for upcoming articles focused on authentic cultural and gastronomic experiences. Supported by Porto and the North of Portugal, in partnership with the Nordic team of Visit Portugal and Visit Alentejo, this visit aimed to position Porto and Douro as must-visit destinations for Scandinavian travelers seeking off-the-beaten-path adventures.

During his stay, Runar explored the unique character of Porto and Douro, with highlights including a lunch at Vinum, where he was joined by Filipa Mesquita, from our Marketing and Communication team. This initiative aligns with our ongoing strategy to tap into the Scandinavian market, which recorded a 27.65% increase in overnight stays from 2023 to 2024—a promising sign of growing interest in the region.
