Porto & North Tourism Board joined the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) during Pride Month.

Founded in 1983, the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) is the world's leading network of LGBTQ+-welcoming tourism businesses. Its mission is to promote equality and safety within LGBTQ+ tourism worldwide, having members in more than 80 countries.

After the admission of Visit Portugal, the Porto & North Tourism Board, through the Porto Convention & Visitors Bureau, was the first Portuguese region to join this network during this Pride Month.

By joining IGLTA, Porto & North Tourism Board takes one more step to becoming an increasingly inclusive destination. The goal is to organize several initiatives, such as training among its associates about this segment.

“Porto and North of Portugal stands out, among many other attributes, for its hospitable and inclusive nature. That's why many choose to make this region their home. Joining IGLTA is further proof of this", says Luís Pedro Martins, President of Porto & North Tourism Board.

"We want to make Porto and North more and more inclusive and make it one of the leading LGBT-friendly destinations in Europe. Being a member of IGLTA will help us a lot in that sense. We are ready to work together with IGLTA and its other members."
