Another international recognition puts the Douro Valley in the spotlight! The region has been named Wine Tourism Destination of the Year at the inaugural Olive Travel & Taste Awards, organised by the UK-based Olive Magazine.

Selected by an internal and guest judging panel, this award celebrates the Douro as a leading wine tourism destination. Established as the world’s oldest demarcated and regulated wine region in 1756, the Douro combines centuries of winemaking tradition with its distinctive terraced landscapes and memorable wine experiences.

This recognition brings further international visibility to the Douro and to the work developed across the region by its tourism and wine sectors, helping position Porto and the North of Portugal among the destinations to watch for wine travellers worldwide.
