The city of Braga was in second place in the "European Best Destination 2019" competition organized by European Best Destinations, with a total of 59,092 votes.

Braga won more votes than Bordeaux and Wroclaw, winners in 2015 and 2018, respectively, being the destination with the highest number of votes coming from abroad (78%). It was considered the favorite destination of travelers from the United Kingdom and Brazil.

The continuous promotion of the destination in several regions, taking the North of Portugal always further, made this result a reality.
