Porto and the North of Portugal will host The Ocean Race Europe for the first time. A Fly-By is scheduled for 20 August at the Porto Cruise Terminal in Matosinhos.
This summer, Porto and the North of Portugal will welcome The Ocean Race Europe for the very first time, hosting an exhilarating Fly-By in Matosinhos on August 20.
Sailing fans — and everyone drawn to a world-class spectacle by the sea — will have a unique opportunity to witness this spectacular stopover during the second stage of the regatta, at the Porto Cruise Terminal, just before the fleet sails toward Gibraltar and the Mediterranean. More than a sports event, the Fly-By Matosinhos will also spotlight local and international efforts to protect and restore ocean health.
This milestone marks the beginning of a broader collaboration between Porto and the North of Portugal and The Ocean Race, with our destination already set to host The Ocean Race Summit in 2026.
This Fly-By is made possible through the joint efforts of Porto and the North of Portugal, together with Visit Portugal, Matosinhos City Hall, APDL and CIIMAR. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
