The promotional film “The Majestic Adventures of Ofelia de Souza” was honoured with “The Best Event Film” award at the ZagrebTourFilmFestival 2022, in Croatia.

Last Friday, October 14th, the winners of the 11th edition of the Zagreb TourFilm Festival, a Croatian festival that honoured national and international productions focused on tourism promotion, were announced.

At the ceremony, which took place in Zagreb, 29 awards were given out, with the promotional film “The Majestic Adventures of Ofelia de Souza” taking home the “The Best Event Film” award.

The festival awarded accolades in the categories “Tourism Destination Cities, Regions and Countries”, “Tourism Services”, “Tourism Products”, “Documentaries”, “TV Reportages”, “Tourism Communication” and “Best Croatian Films” and among the winners are productions, in addition to Portugal, from 14 other countries (Croatia, France, Greece, Hungary, Jordan, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Qatar, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Uganda).

Since 2011, the Zagreb TourFilm Festival has been an official member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), forming part of the CIFFT Circuit, which brings together tourism film festivals from around the world. In this year's edition, the festival brought together more than 200 submissions from 31 countries.

Launched in October last year, the film produced by Kobu Agency stars Ofélia de Souza, an experienced 72-year-old event planner and epicurean who, alongside her personal assistants Ofelier and Ofeliette, shares tips and secrets for choosing and enjoying the Porto and North region, one of the best business tourism destinations in the world.

All the character’s costumes and interactions refer to products and sites representative of the design, culture, industry and fashion of the region, in a film that intends to show that the destination has what is needed for organising large events.

This campaign, which will continue this year, reinforces the commitment to position the region as a leading destination in the MICE area.
